Even if portals could move, I’d say that Newton’s first would mean that the pole would just hold the surface with the portal on it up. Even if the portals’ velocity was unaffected, moving the orange portal downwards would just crush the pole; moving the portal upwards would stretch it (until it presumably breaks, probably at the weld).
C) is even easier: portals close for a split second, pushing anything between them outwards, before reconnecting. Everyone knows this! It’d be pushing the point on the pole in both directions (out of blue + out of orange). If it were strong enough, it’d break the pole at that point. Otherwise it’d just sever the pole when the portals closed.
C’mon guys, science, c’mon.
